

A Palace Door by Al-Jazari
That door was mentioned in the book of al-Jazari. It is totally magnificent and charming. al-Jazarī praised it saying, “It is the chef-d’oeuvre, to view it saddles are strapped on. Truly it is the pearl, the orphan, a priceless possession.” It is a door with two leaves for the king’s palace in the city of Amad, Diyarbakır. al-Jazarī remanufactured it due to the beauty of its decoration and the preciseness of its creation. Each leaf is about 18 span long and 6 span boards.
